Schoolhouse Ballater

Schoolhouse Ballater is a refreshingly different B&B in a beautifully renovated Victorian villa, on the edge of the much loved Scottish highland town of Ballater and in the heart of Royal Deeside. The area is calm andpeaceful, the only sounds likely to disturb your slumber would be tweeting birds in the warmer summer months.

There are 3 big suites, each blessed with natural light, offering privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. The handmade beds, made bespoke for Schoolhouse, are superking or twin with premium soft cotton bedlinen. The bedrooms all have en suite bathrooms with high quality furnishings throughout. Rooms have great views over the beautiful Scottish Highlands.

There are hardwood floors throughout the building and many beautiful, natural features. The lounge has enormous sofas and a blazing wood burning stove. On chilly mornings, the wood burner in the dining room gives a cheery start to the day. The wider house is powered by an Alpha, with beautiful cast iron heaters ensuring every room is warm on chilly winter days.

Breakfasts are no longer served since the pandemic but instead, lightbreakfast options are placed in the rooms, which are equipped with fridges and kettles.

Schoolhouse is alsoan environmentally responsible business, using as little plastic as possible, with eco friendly products and policies. The house is fitted with fibre optic broadband for seamless WIFI connection.

It's a 5 minute walk to the Ballater village centre, where visitors can find all required facilities, from local shops (award winning butchers, bakers, etc) as well as a range of cafes and restaurants (from simple to fine dining). We're based in the heartof the Cairngorm national park, with an abundance of wildlife, countless walks and cycles (as well as other adventure sports) and whisky distilleries to explore. Balmoral Castle is a 20 minute drive away, so too are many other historical sites.
